Despatch sales orders from your browser
You may or may not know that you can manage parts of your sales orders from your web browser. To see this, click on the cog wheel and then “Show web portal in browser”.
You can bookmark this link for accessing later, even if you haven’t got Sage 200 installed. Sales Order Processing can be accessed from the left-hand menu. From here you can add, amend, and view existing sales orders.
Now to the brand-new feature: despatching sales orders. We will click on “Order processing”, “Goods Despatched and Received”, then “Confirm Goods Despatched”.
This screen is similar to the Sage 200 desktop. We can dispatch all undespatched orders, a single order at a time, all orders from a range of order numbers or made between certain dates, and all orders placed by a single customer or from a particular warehouse.
Let’s dispatch a single order. We will click on the magnifying glass to search for and select our order.
Once the line items are shown, click “Confirm Despatch.”
Now we will add some tracking information (more on that later!). Finally, we’ll “Save”, and just like that, our order has been despatched.
2. Add tracking information to your orders
As we just saw, we can now add tracking information to all our sales orders, including the status of our shipments and proof of delivery. To get started, we need to set up our couriers in the “Accounting system manager”, under “Settings”…
and then add your courier details
This can also be done from Sage 200 Desktop under the same menu.
As well as adding tracking information when we dispatch an order, we can amend the tracking information for existing orders. To see this, click on “Sales Order Processing”, “Order Processing”, “Goods Despatched and Received” and then “Amend Tracking Information”. From this web screen, we can amend tracking information for existing orders.
3. Incoterms and reasons for export
If we are shipping internationally, we can now add Incoterms and the Reasons for export. To do this click on “Sales Order Processing”, “SOP Maintenance”, and then “Incoterms” and add Incoterms from this web screen.
To this from Sage 200 Desktop, click on “Sales Order Processing”, “SOP Maintenance” and then on “Maintain Incoterms.” You can change add incoterms from here. Once set up, this info can be added to the tracking information when dispatching orders.
4. New API features
Couriers, dispatched orders, and Tracking Information can now also be amended by third party software. To see this in action or to integrate your external systems with Sage 200, contact us today.
5. Sage 200 in the cloud
We can now provide you with a fully functional Sage 200 system in Microsoft Azure. Ditch those infrastructure costs and experience the relief that going without a server can bring.
6. Full compatibility with Excelerator
You can safely add and amend Sage 200 Sales Orders, Journals, customers and much more all from your spreadsheet using Excelerator . Excelerator is fully compatible with the latest 2022 R2 update. For more information, contact us now.
